PERITO MORENO GLACIER

The Perito Moreno Glacier is the main attraction of Los Glaciares National Park. With an extension of 30 km, what makes this glacier different from many others is its accessibility. You can get a view of the glacier front from wooden platforms and catwalks, and there are no obstructions at all. With its constant advance (up to two metres per day), large calvings occur frequently. Not only can this glacier be enjoyed from the different viewpoints, but also from boats and, for those looking for a more active experience, ice trekking.
Classic Tour
Take a bus or a guided tour to the Perito Moreno Glacier, 80 km away from the town of El Calafate, inside the Los Glaciares National Park. This tour enables you to take your time in a very relaxed way, strolling over the catwalks, enjoying the vistas of the stunning glacier front. Not many glaciers in the world enable such close access.
Boat tour
Sail the waters of Lago Argentino on board modern and comfortable catamarans. The itineraries also offer visits to Upsala and Spegazzini glaciers.
Minitrekking
The best option for people looking for a more active role during a visit to Perito Moreno Glacier is minitrekking. Not only do you get to enjoy the views of the glacier, but you will also feel it (under your feet). Expert mountain guides will take care of you while you hike geared with crampons. To celebrate, you will be invited with a scotch on the rocks, made with thousands of years old ice.
